What we do:

We engage on specific and systematic issues:

  1. Considering the issues and potential implications of individual new technologies, in particular - nanotechnology, synthetic biology, and so called 'converging tech' (including nano, biotech, information tech, genomics and cognitive science) together with aspects of geoengineering.
  2. Involvement with issues which arise from particular applications of these technologies, eg the role of nano in food, ethical aspects of specific human enhancements.
  3. Contributing to debates about the wider systemic issues of responsible innovation, such as governance, safety, public involvement, research and policy.
