Strong governance - How do we ensure the accountable, responsible and transparent governance of the new, transforming technologies, particularly given their global reach, fierce international competition and inherent uncertainties?

Reaping benefits, minimising risks - To what ends and how do we prioritise safe and socially and environmentally beneficial applications in research, development and commercialisation of new technologies without stifling scientific, engineering or commercial endeavour?

Stakeholder involvement - How can the perspectives of stakeholders and the public become more useful and influential in shaping the direction of research and development of new technologies and their applications?
